The purpose of these guides
These guides provide general education for patients and caregivers. They cannot assess your diagnosis, test results, other illnesses, medicines or preferences. Reading this website alone does not establish a treating relationship with a CTI doctor or amount to a consultation, prescription or treatment plan.
Your treating team should explain how the available evidence applies to you. A guide cannot cover every treatment option, interaction, precaution or possible side effect.
Making decisions about treatment
Do not start, stop or change medicines, supplements or other treatment solely because of information on this website. Do not delay seeking medical advice because of something you have read here.
Medicine guides do not replace the instructions for your exact medicine, formulation and treatment schedule. If a guide, a leaflet and your prescription appear to disagree, ask your treating clinician or pharmacist to clarify before changing what you take.
Evidence, review dates and outcomes
Cancer evidence and treatment practice change. “Review record updated” shows when the approval record displayed on a page was updated. It does not mean the whole page received a new clinical review on that date or that every later development is included. Information may contain errors or omissions despite checking.
Treatment results vary between people. Statistics, examples and descriptions of possible benefits cannot predict or guarantee an individual outcome. Mention of a medicine, test or treatment does not mean it is suitable for you or available through every centre.
Urgent symptoms and emergencies
In a medical emergency, seek immediate medical care at the nearest hospital emergency department. For urgent concerns about your current treatment, contact your treating team directly and follow the urgent-care instructions they have given you.
CTI’s website and WhatsApp are intended for appointments, treatment enquiries and care coordination, rather than emergency medical care. Responses may take time, so please do not delay urgent care while waiting for a reply.
Sources and illustrations
References and links help readers find supporting information. They do not mean that the cited publisher has reviewed or endorsed CTI, this website or your treatment. External resources have their own terms and may change.
CTI illustrations are simplified visual explanations of anatomy. They are not anatomically exact and are not drawn to scale, so they should be understood only as simplified guides.
Some illustrations may be generated with AI. Decorative ribbon images are not diagnostic images or detailed anatomical teaching diagrams. Do not use an illustration to interpret your own scans or diagnose a condition.
Questions and corrections
For a decision about your own care, speak to your treating team. To report a possible website error, contact CTI with the page link and the wording concerned. Reporting a website issue is not a request for urgent medical assessment.
