How AI has been used
AI tools have assisted with developing this website, organising source material, preparing and adapting text, improving readability, and creating supporting layouts and visual assets. AI assistance does not mean that every part of the website was generated by AI.
The website’s search tools retrieve links to existing pages. They do not provide an AI-generated diagnosis, consultation or personalised treatment recommendation.
AI can make errors
AI can produce inaccurate, incomplete, misleading or outdated information. It can omit important context, misinterpret research or generate incorrect references. Clear or confident wording does not guarantee that a statement is correct. Errors can remain even after checking.
Human responsibility and review credits
AI is an assisting tool, not a clinical author, medical reviewer or treating clinician. Clinical judgement and editorial responsibility remain with the CTI team. The wording of each page’s credit matters:
- Medically reviewed and approved: records a named clinician’s medical review and approval of that page’s content.
- Clinical editorial approval following a documented evidence audit: records approval through an evidence-audited batch process. It does not claim that the named clinician personally read every guide.
- Awaiting review: means approval has not been recorded for that version.
“Review record updated” is the date the displayed approval record was updated. Original version-specific review and approval dates are retained in our records. Updating this display does not imply a fresh clinical review of every page, continuous monitoring or a guarantee of accuracy. A credit for a specified update applies only to that update. A substantive change requires appropriate further review. Approval of clinical content does not establish permission to reproduce third-party content.
AI-generated images and illustrations
Some supporting images were created or edited with AI. Cancer-awareness ribbons and faint background motifs are decorative. They do not represent a patient’s scans, tissue samples or clinical findings.
Medical illustrations may simplify anatomy or treatment and may contain inaccuracies. They should support an explanation, not determine a diagnosis or treatment decision.
Sources, permissions and attribution
AI output and a source citation are not evidence that copying or adaptation is authorised. Third-party text, images, diagrams and trademarks remain subject to their owners’ rights and applicable terms. References do not imply endorsement of CTI by those publishers.
Your information and your care
This website does not offer an AI chatbot or a facility for uploading medical records for AI assessment. Please do not put personal medical details into the search boxes. For information about website search and external contact services, see the Privacy Policy.
AI-assisted information cannot assess your individual diagnosis, test results, other illnesses or treatment needs. Discuss decisions with your treating team and do not start, stop or change treatment solely because of website content.
